Riding in Anglesey


GIACH

A-B A flat, open lane alongside the River Ffraw to Llyn Coron. Then rising gently to Soar to meet the National Cycle Route (indicated by blue signs). (SHORT TOUR starts at B - See below)
B-C Turn right at 'T' junction then immediately left to continue on main tour. At Din Dryfol Ancient Monument - leave bike just before farmyard, follow signs for 300m to monument.
C-D B4422 Aberfraw to Llangefni. Turn right into Henblas. After Henblas turn right off main road after 500m. Out of Llangristiolus village is quite a long freewheel down a wooded lane.
D-E A winding lane eventually coming out onto the Malltraeth Marsh flatland. Stop at Pont Marquis (where the tour joins the National Cycle Route) for views up the valley. Rejoins short tour at E.
E-F Flat as far as Malltraeth. Then a long but not very steep hill up A4080 out of village. After 2km turn off left. F-A From here to the finish is fine landscape, passing through a long wooded section at Bodorgan and then down a long hill and across Aberffraw Sand Dunes.

SHORT TOUR B-E
Turn right at Soar and keep going. The short tour follows the National Cycle Tour until rejoining the main tour. At Bethel turn left into the B4422 and then immediately right.
