Wirral 'Leukaemia
Research Fund' Bikeathon
The
volunteers of the Wirral branch of the leukaemia Research Fund are
organising their fifth annual bike ride through the Wirral on Sunday
8th June 2003 to raise money by sponsorship to support the activities
of the fund both locally and nationally. Two routes of 13 and 26
miles are available: Both start and finish in Arrowe Country Park
(Golf course entrance), Upton, Wirral.
This is a fun day out for individuals and families (minimum
age of 8 for children) and groups from all sectors and professional
organisations, for example, industry, Schools, sports clubs,
leisure clubs, pubs, etc. The bikeathon is a bike ride, not
a race. There will be marshals along the route and the St Johns
Ambulance Service will be present.

This event is organised entirely
by local volunteers and for every £1.00 raised £0.95p will be used to fund
research into finding the
cure for leukaemia and other blood
disorders, with only £0.05p
going towards administration
costs.
