One of three dismantled railways in this part of the world (the other two start in Caernarfon) with fine views of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.

The route: Porth Penryn (Bangor) - Maesgeirchen - Glasinfryn - Tregarth.

Distance: 4.5 miles one way, 9 miles both.

Start & Parking: Bangor, just off the A5122 or Tregarth, 4 miles to south on the B4409.

Surface & Hills: Stone and gravel path. Steady climb south from the coast up to Tregarth.

Roads & Road Crossings: The B4409 is crossed twice.
