One
of Sustrans first dismantled railway paths, the route now carries over a
million visits a year. It runs from the heart of Bristol to the outskirts
of Bath, passing
old steam trains at Bitton Station.

13 miles one way, 26 miles both.
Start & Parking:
The path runs from Midland Road, St Philips (near to Gardiner Haskins)
in the centre of Bristol to Brassmill Lane Trading Estate on the
western
edge of Bath. There are signposted links from the centres of both cities.
Parking in Bitton steam railway station or at the Bath end of the
trading estate
road.
Surface & Hills:
Tarmac path (one short gravel section). No hills.
Roads & Road
Crossings: Two road crossings.
Links
or other nearby trails: Ashton-Pill path can be picked up
from the CREATE centre
on the Cumberland Road, Bristol. The Kennet & Avon Canal towpath
starts in Bath and runs for 50 miles towards Hungerford.
