Rail Trail - Kingswinford Railway Trail, southwest of Wolverhampton

A fine, well-maintained, wooded trail with a countryside feel that belies its proximity to the built-up areas of Wolverhampton.

The Route: Pensnett (west of Dudley on the A4101) - Himley - Wombourne - Castlecroft - Tettenhall - Aldersley Stadium.

Distance: 10 miles one way, 20 miles both.

Start & Parking:

Wombourne. Turn off the A449 Wolverhampton to Kidderminster road at the roundabout near Wombourne where the A463 joins the A449 signposted 'Kingswinford Railway Walk. Trysull, Seisdon'. follow signs for Trysull onto Bill Buns Lane then just before a brown and cream coloured railway bridge turn right onto a track signposted 'Kingswinford Railway Walk'.

Surface & Hills: Good quality stone and gravel track. No hills.

Roads & Road Crossings: None.

Links or other nearby trails: The Birmingham & Black Country Canal Towpath runs from the centre of Birmingham to the centre of Wolverhampton.
